A Single Screen Theatre or a Multiplex -- Your Preference.

It seems that multiple screen theatres did exist in India before I was born and around the time when I was a really small kid. They soon disappeared and by the time I started going to theatres to watch a movie there were only single screen theatres. And good ones and bad ones and ones which had only english movies being shown and all.
It was not untill we passed out of college 8 years back that the first multiplex came up in our city. And so many people took to it and soon there were three such four screen multiplexes. Soon the single screen theatres lost business. Some single screen theatres renovated themselves to two or three screen theatres.
I prefer to go to a multiplex to watch a movie. It just seems better. What do you prefer?

The last time I went to a single screen cinema must be at least 10 years ago and now most of them have either closed down or been converted to multiple screens. But I prefer to go to the old cinemas with the old style lobbies rather than the ultra modern multiplexes. Yes the older cinema's may not have the range of facilities or films to watch but I always get a real atmoshperic buzz from walking into an old cinema.

Still I am watching movies in single Screen only and those are good theaters with one screen like multiplex screen. Multiplexes charges very high cost for a ticket then single screen. Ok If you see a movie in multiplex what difference you find between multiplex & single screen theater.

huge difference in quality of seating, screen, the Air conditioners, the snack bar and of course the ambience is so much better. And if i go with the idea of watching a movie and end up not getting it, I can always opt for other as choices are varied. That is the difference. The tickets prices are not much different if you go to a good single screen theatre and compare it with the multiplex. The theatres which sell cheap tickets are really run down where fans hardly works, rats and cockroaches run over you and the public which comes is well let me not describe it here.
