I saw a large bright star in the east. Was it Venus? I was amazed at the size and brightness. It must be very clear at this time because as I was gazing around, I could see other stars. It's been so long since I've seen stars what with pollution in general, I got this feeling of "Wow!"
Do you see the stars at night where you live? How 'bout that big star?

Once I saw a bright star and thought it was a flying saucer, and then I thought it was one of the planets, but I am not that good at astronomy. (Maybe I should because I am writing about a different planet.
) There are a lot of stars where we live. We live in Winnipeg, MB. and where we are it is quite clear and often we see a lot of stars at night. Unless of course it is clouded over or raining.

I love seeing stars at night. Just for fun I'm going to look it up and see if I saw Venus. @jpso138 (7851)

Well, I usually wake up early in the morning. That would be around 5:30am. In most cases, I can still see the moon and some stars as I drink my morning coffee. They are really great to watch most especially when you are not in a hurry. I do however from time to time, take coffee also during the night. I always noticed this very bright object that seem to look like a planet. I always thought of it as a planet until a friend of mine who works with the weather station told me that its actually a satellite.

Well, at 4:30 am the only stars I seen were the ones in my dreams since I was asleep at that time. I didn't get up till 6:00 am to get my daughter up for school. But we do see the stars whenever we happen to look up to see them. Me and my little one likes to look up and try to guess at the constellations.

I think Venus is the brightest star that we can see in the sky... so that must be what you saw... her in my place... stars are still very visible... and i would see venus early at night near the moon... and even during the morning... when i still woke up very early...
