To Do, To Pack lists

I'm leaving on Saturday for a 3 day trip with my family. I'm preparing for my trip by making lists. One list of things I have to pack, so I don't forget. Another list of things I need to do before we leave, such as wash our blankets, find the suitcases and duffle bags, get an oil change for my car. What sort of things would be on your To Do list in preparation for a short trip with all your kids?

I think that would be about it for my list. Stuff to bring, things to do before I leave. If it was a weekend trip there would not be too much to do before I left. If it was during the week though I would have to make sure the trash got put out on Thursday

I have a generic list in each person's suitcase and start from there. Then depending on where we are going or what season it is, I'll pack the appropriate clothes. I also have a list in the kitchen for meds, vitamins, etc that we might need. Everything else well too bad, if we don't bring it along, they we have to do without! Enjoy your trip!

Hi Kats...Whenever I have to go anywhere I think of all the things I would need or use in a typical day. So I begin the day by showering and getting dressed. What would I need in order to everyone to shower (or bathe) and get dressed? Who is taking medication? Who needs their vitamins? Does anyone need special food for the trip? Those are the things I would start with and then I would ask everyone if they have any requests. Then all you have to do is go through the list and mark everything completed! Good luck with the prep and have a wonderful trip!

There is only 1 thing that I always do before a trip. I always clean the whole house! I know that it sounds silly with all of the extra things you have to do to prepare to leave. But there is something about coming home to a clean house that is relaxing. I hate coming back from a vacation to find things that need my attention immediately. (In fact that was the final straw with a previous roommate. My husband and I came home from a long weekend away. I had done all of the cleaning before I left. When we got back, there were dirty dishes in the sink. They sat there for 3 more days until I finally washed them! I could have killed my roommate!) I hope you enjoy your trip! Make sure you find some time to relax!
