Storing Seasonal Clothes

I am currently starting to sort thru the kids clothes and put away the winter things. Usually I put them in grocery bags with labels on them in a plastic bin. However, since my stockpile has grown and I need to donate or sell off the things they've outgrown I don't have anymore bins or money to buy any. So I am using lawn sized trash bags and labeling them. How do you store your seasonal clothes?

I moved 2 years ago and still have lots of boxes! I have one box that I use as a table in my spare room, to set a lamp on when I need to be in there when it's dark. That's where I store my clothes that are out of season. I have a nice covering over it so it looks like a decorative piece but inside are all the clothes I don't need that season. Boxes are so useful!

I like using the Dole Banana boxes I pick up from Aldi's for storing some clothes in the basement; when I can find them. Plus they make great laundry baskets ;0)

i want to get some of those "space bags",but they're so expensive. all it is, is a plastic bag with a air seal thing on it.not worth 19 bucks a pop.

I'd like to get more bins but I don't know how many I need and boy do I have alot of stuff to store. I have this seasons clothes and then winter clothes for all 5 of us + the larger sizes for the kids as I buy ahead as I see it.

Thanks for reminding me I need to sort through things lol. When I get around to it, I'll also use trash bags, but I'll put the hose end of my sweeper in the end and suction everything down for each one of us--down to three now, the other boys are long since grown--this will leave two bags under my bed and one under my son's. Anything that no longer fits goes to nephews or the local thrift shop.

we have one daughter who is almost 16 and one who is 12 and naturally i have saved a good number of clothing that her sister has outgrown. what we have in our garage is a big and quite old chest of drawers that hubbys parents gave us. i store clothing in there. i also had some large bins from walmart but what i did just the other weekend was weeded through it and got rid of stuff that was way out of style or that our youngest figured she wouldnt wear, then i saved some of the stuff for a garage sale and the rest was sent the stuff of to charity.

Good deal that's what I'm working on doing. I have to go thru and see what they trashed and isn't worthy of keeping. I love the bins we have here by gas stations they take the clothes and donate them to 3rd world countries (not that we don't need it here but still a good deed is being done & the bins are convienient) or turn them into rags. I just dropped off 2 grocery bags the other day & I have heaps of stuff to price for my rummage.

Usually in garbage bags, but when we moved a couple months ago I bought a couple plastic bins. Whatever doesn't fit in the plastic bins is currently in boxes. I do have to go through and replace their summer clothes with the winter clothes, so I'll need to buy more bins I guess.

I either put them under neath my bag or if i have a box laying around i will store them in their and throw it up in the addict and that is that. I have already done this since i do live in south Florida and it is already in the 90s here. If i can't find any boxes and i still have clothes to put away i will get the big black trash bags and use those and then get some big labels and write with permanent marker that they are my winter clothes so i will know when i need to get them down.

Most of my stuff I store in those space bags. You know, those clear plastic ones where you put the stuff in and vaccuum the air out. I used to store them in stackable Rubbermaid tubs, but since I tried those space bags I'm really hooked on them. They're not only moisture proof, they're also moth proof. They make it so much easier to store all that stuff, plus they stack real good too. I find I have a lot more room in my closet now that I use those!

Hello 3SnuggleBunnies, I actually use lawn size trash bags all the time, when it is time to pack seasonal clothes, so I will say you have relied on a good source Happy My Lotting!
