Has Anyone Tried This? Or Would You Like To?

Parachuting.
I always wanted to have a go at Parachuting. The one where you walk off a high hill and then you take off and fly up into the air. Apparently you can sometimes stay up for HOURS!
However, I was always frightened that I would not be able to take off!
So.......
I decided to do a Prachatute jump to see how it would feel!
At the tender age of 51, I enrolled in a parachute course and learned how to fly the thing.
The we went up to 3,500 feet and I jumped out, tied to a "Static Line" and the parachute opened automatically!
What an EXPERIENCE!
But..... FRIGHTENING!!! Until the 'chute opens, and then it is terrific.
I did 18 jumps and One Freefall, but now my knees are to old and they cannot take it!Has anyone else done a jump or ever wanted to?
Post your experiences here please.

I wouldn't try parachuting. I'm too afraid that something would go wrong and my chute wouldn't open or something. I mean if God wanted me to jump out of a plane he would have given me wings, since I don't have them...I'm not jumping from a plane bridge or anything else.

Yes....
That is very true!!
But you could also say that we were not meant to swim and dive in the ocean or he would have given us "Gills"
But.... I have SCUBA dived and that is also excellent!
But.... when that "CHUTE" opens that is when you are truly flying !!!!!
You feel just like a bird !!!

I think it looks like it would be fun but I don;t think I could ever do something like that, I am afraid of heights

I also always wanted to go for parachuting but its not in my country. There is only paragluiding here in the northern areas of my country in which you have to glide from a mountain. I also always wanted to jump in bungy jumping. I hope one day I may visit US or Canada where all of them are available.

I would love to do it if given a chance.
At first it seems to be thrilling and adventurous but i can imagine very well what one must be feeling at the time he is supposed to make the jump.
Undoubtedly it is a very dangerous sport and frightening too but at the same time it can make an adventure seeker feel that he is alive.
Did not u feel that you come across an all new aspect of life at the time you jumped for the first time?
Well I live in India where it is not that easy to have such an opportunity for a person who entertains an average lifestyle.
However if destiny gives me a chance i will certainly do it.
At least once in my lifetime.:)
