i've heard a lot of stories from friends about the method of birth control that they're using. stories that told me about the difficulty of having it. about oral pills, my female friends said that they're getting fat and bulging because of those oral pills. some said that these oral pills inhibit milk supply. any barrier method is also inconvenient. other contraceptives when left behind causes them multiple pregnancies. i know some of them are fallacies. so what's your preferred contraceptives?

I love the depo shot. You get it every three months. I have had no real side effects except I have not had my monthly since I started taking it 7 years ago. (not a bad thing at all!!)
I suggest that you talk to your doctor about what would work best with you. I know that I could not remember to take a pill every morning and so it was just not an option for me. We decided that the depo shot would be the best option to me.

i think depo isn't for me. i hate visiting doctors and i also often forget things. especially when i need to see the OBGYNe every 3 months. im afraid i'll forget that too.

If you often forget things then stay away from the pill because you will forget it also. I hate shots but I do not want to get pregnent either and so this is the best thing for me.

i'm into oral contraceptive pills, one thing that i hate when using it, is that i like to eat always that is why i'm gaining weight everytime i'm using it. and of course my moods starts to rise, it seems that i always have a hot mind... i have a friend who tried using injectables but, it takes about 5-6 months for her to get menstruated and it's not a good effect for the women.

the best method for us which is very effective for 6 years now is the rhythmic method. you just have to keep track of all the days in your life since conception depends on it. i have lots of calendars of all sizes in our room to make sure that we really had the right time to do or not to do it.

the pill is my chosen one. I have been on the pill continuously for almost 10yrs now and have had no complications. Though I have only one child so cant really say about the milk flow thing…but yes, I do think the pill makes one gain weight! I have not become the bulging type really but I think I have gained more weight than would have been possible if not for the pill! Oh well, gain some lose some…apart from the weight gain, the pill is the best for me.

I use the Mirena. They put it in during one visit and it lasts five years. I've had mine going on two years now and havn't had a problem with it. I only have mild spotting here and there and about four full blown periods a year. It's not for everyone but I like it. I'm not worried about forgetting to take a pill which I've been on before or changing out a birth control patch. Those get gross after the 2nd or 3rd day after application. They get all kinds of lint and what not from your clothing. Any ways I like my Mirena it's been exactly what I've needed. I haven't gained any weight or anything like that. When it's removed it doesn't cause mulitiple pregnancies. If you want to know more ask.

When I first met my current partner we used condom's 2 times and then both decied we didn't like it, so we used the pulling out method. Up until about 5 months ago I had never taken an oral contraceptive, I refused too beacuse I already had perfect skin and I didn't want to gain weight.
But I changed my mind after reading up on it some more. I went to the doctors and I was given Microgynon 30, But just a few days after taking it I was suffering serious side effects. I was havinf panic attacks, prolonged bleeding, numbness in my right arm, chest pains, headaches, feeling sick and my blood seemed to be clotting.
So I went back to the doctor's a day after speakng with the emergency doctor. I was then told the pill I was taking was too high dosed. So they changed me onto cilest which is a lower dosed oral combined pill. I waited a month to start taking this new one.
Yet just after a day of taking this pill I was still suffering the same side effects from the previous pill so I started to panic. I made an appointment with a female doctor and she told me I had been prescribed a pill which wasnt suitable for me, there was to many hormones.
As soon as I told her my problem she knew, I create too much oestrogen which means I have to have a pill which is only proestrogen. I am now on cerazette and have been for abot 2 months now. Its worked like a dream. NO MORE PERIODS! NO BABIES! and wesight LOSS!! wat more could you want!.
I had an ordeal with finding the right contraceptive but I'm happy I've got the POP pill. As it works wonders!

Aspirin is an effective birth control method, which may lead to people to this conclusion is that men who take regular doses of aspirin may have a decreased sperm count. It only takes one to Fertilize an egg so i found a study that suggest that high doses of aspirin may cause uterine contractions (which could possibly cause a miscarriage).

we prefer to practice the rhythmic method, meaning you count the days in which you are safe and my husband is okay with it. I'm discouraged to take any pills because of my mitral valve replacement surgery...the medication is not good for the heart. And even if it were allowed I still won't use any of it, there are side effects and yes you're right about the things you've enumerated above, most of my cousins who took them are unable to get rid of the fats they gained.
