Have you ever beat the odds?

When I was in 8th grade my math teacher told me that I was too dumb to take algebra. She said that I was going to take "dummy math" which was just general math my 9th grade year and that I would probably fail it.
When I took general math, I made straight A's. The coach teaching the class suggested that I just try algebra my sophomore year. So I did with the thought that I could drop out if it was too intense!
I aced it as well! Then i took Geometry then skipped Algebra 2 and went on to complete Trigonometry. I proceeded to attend college as a math major. I soon decided to get married and then children followed.
I went back to school to be an educator and added several math courses for my concentration. I mastered the first three Calculus classes and presently have 35 hours of college math. That's a minor in math!
Did you ever beat the odds? Did you ever accomplish something everyone told you you couldn't do?

Well i got a veeeeeeeery low 63% on my Abnormal Psychology class. It's just weird because my professor won't attend class everytime i'm present. I skip her class too because she won't come but then when i'm not around, she's there giving quizzes. So during the second quarter, tide has turned on my favor. She need to quit teaching the class because her husband is running for councilor so she needs a replacement. Well the replacement was also my teacher in Group Dynamics and we fairly had good relationship as teacher and student before. I know it's impossible to pass the subject with a 63% grade for midtem but then he gav me a chance, he gave me a project but then he told me that he'll give it to me next time until that next time never came until the school year just ended. Guess what, he gave me a passing mark of 83%. I guess technically, i beat the odds. lol!

I think I would call that beating the odds!! I was a math teacher and never got 83% from 63%... :) So.. yeah, I'd say you beat something!!1 person likes this

Yes, someone in MyLot told me today that I'm an idiot because I didn't want to chat naughty and talked about mature content with that person. That person is still trying to make me angry by commenting bad to my posts.
But I think I beat the odds because I didn't pay attention to what that person is saying about me, and carry on with my precious life. I'm here because I want to make extra income for my family, especially for my mom who is sick and needs medical treatment, and as everyone knows, healthcare is always expensive.
I believe that being patience is golden. It's hard but I did it. My friends in MyLot told me how to control my anger and ease the burden that I might carry when I'm angry. So yes, I beat the odds :)

Good job! And Way to Go!!! You stay in control... don't let people like that drag you down!!! You don't ever have to crawl into a ditch with anyone!
