What Do I Really Love About My PVR

I am a pretty happy camper these days. I like to sit back after a long day in the office and just watch some TV but I can't take all the commercials. Some are funny and some are really cool but you tend to get sick of them after 30 or 40 years.
Well now we have a PVR and record pretty much everything we watch so we can skip the commercials. It's great.
But when I am watching live TV and I come to a commercial I just pause the PVR, go do something for a few minutes and when I come back I can fast forward through the commercials.
It sure has cut down on our TV time as we view what we have recorded without viewing the commercials.
Do you have a PVR or any other recording devices for TV and Sat?

Never heard of a pvr, I have a dvr wich I love and I think its well worth the money since I can record shows or movies and watch them when theres nothing good on tv to watch. And yeah you have to love being able to skip over the commercials wich is a good thing even though I just switch it to a video game during the commercial so it dosnt really bother me as much.

I have a DVD recorder that I love! I have several rewritable DVD's and I record over and over on those. Well, actually I have several discs, but only use 2 because I always watch and then erase it right after, so I rarely need more than one.
Most of the time when I am watching live TV I am busy working on the computer and I don't notice the commercials.
My DVD recorder has an Instant Skip button on it and I just push it a few times ands it skips right over the commercials.

I have a DVD recorder also but I love the PVR and as long as we continue to deal with the sat company we deal with we will have it. I have no problems with the company yet and we have been with them for more than four years now.
I really like the option of skipping forward to avoid the commercials.
It's really cool when watching TV live. When a commercial comes on I just pause and go to the kitchen or check my email, anything but watch the commercial, then when I return I just skip forward back to my program. Too cool.
