I have decided to try my hand at herb gardening. I have some dill growing in a container and some of it is yellow. What does that mean? Is that a bad thing? Is my plant bad? If so can I save it, and if so how?

Yellow means that the dill is about to seed. I would not use it for canning anylonger, but truthfully that is simply for looks in the jars of pickles etc. As many pickle recipes call for dill seed if the flavor of the dill is still strong then it will not hurt. But you should plant some more for fresh use as it means that the plant has almost finished its life cycle.
