Hi myLotters! Has it ever happened to you that you helped someone out, maybe a friend or a total stranger, and wished that you would be rewarded or you would get something in return? I know that when I do a good deed to others, I shouldn't expect karma to reward me immediately. But has this thought crossed your mind?

Well, it is truly in everyone's Best interest to always do good, and the more good you do, the better things will be. And when you do a good deed good things will usually follow as well. It may not always be right away, but in time great things will happen for all of your efforts for sure.

When you do good to others, do you expect good to return unto you?
Thanks for saying this Krausehome, I truly believe it! Heck it might not come back for fifty or so but it will definitely come back around, whether we are doing good or evil to others. That is why I try to do good most of the time..Happy Mylotting!

Yup, I guess that simple fact that you've helped someone in need should keep you feeling light and happy. Thanks!

I would just wish that the person took the best opportunity of the help that i may have given and would also do something like that for someone else one day.

Yup, I'd also want the one I helped out to pay it forward. Spread the goodness around. :)

Hello moonchild117!!!
I don't really expect any award for doing good to others. But the satisfaction I get is really the greatest satisfaction I get. For example, If I have a single fruit and suddenly a kid came along. If I just ate up the fruit alone, then may be I get satisfied till the moment I am eating. But if I gave that food to the kid, then what happens. It will make me satisfied eternally, I would always feel good for the kindness or compassion I have shown. And what else do we need than this satisfaction? Isn't that great...
Happy mylotting...

For me, i like to do good things to other people especially my friends and i don't expec anything in return.. that's what i think.. it's better not to expect than to expect them to give back to you.. i like it when someone comes then say "thank you"
unexpectedly...

True, better not to expect because you'll only end up disappointed and frustrated. And it's a better feeling if the reward comes unexpectedly.

I know I shouldn't... but I often do. When I am a good friend to someone, I expect that person to treat me as a good friend too. I do believe that it's basic courtesy to be considerate of other people and different levels of consideration applies to different people based on how much closer you are with each other :)
I think it's human nature although life is so much simpler when we can simply be happy with what good we've done and not with if we'd ever be appreciated or not :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

When you do good to others, do
you expect something in return?
Hello Moonchild, nope I really can't say that I expect anything back when I do good to others simply because I try to make it a lifestyle of doing good to others. I know that good things will come back to me, so I don't even think about it when I do good to someone. I guess you could say that I just sort of take it all in stride. Be blessed my friend. keep looking up and keep on doing good even when evil is done unto you or if you don't get what you were expecting. Know that somewhere in the universe there is a power that will set the record straight, all by and by. This is the faith that I have and it's working for me on a continuous basis. God bless yo

I'll never expecting anything from the person i helped. I mean the expectation in rewards. But i will hope that person will help other people as the continuing kindness from us. It's our obligation to helping each other. So we shouldn't expecting any repay from it. But it depends on the help itself. If we help other by lend money to other, of course we must expecting the repay of the money, but don't ask for any interest of those money. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I tend to think it this way, if I do good to you, then maybe you don't do anything in return but at least you should not do harm to me. And later on, in the future, you may have remembered that I have done something good to you and therefore you may offer me something as a return.
I am treating it like growing crops, you just place seeds all over the field and hope that they will grow up and later on they give you the crops as return.

No I dont expect anything in return.. I am greatful that I was able to help someone out, regardless if its a couple cents at a check out line, or returning someone's wallet. Helping people brings such a warm feeling throughout my body. I feel so good.. I dont mind helping anyone, just not willing to be used.

I wouldnt expect something as such. I would like to help them out just to be friendly and kind, i wouldnt expect them to do anything for me. I would just want them to be happy, and i would hope they would benefit from my help. But i would be a bit annoyied if when i then needed help they totally didnt bother to help me at all. Fair enough if theyve got a good reason, but if they just couldnt be bothered i think that would be a bit rude. But i wouldnt expect them to help me, i would just like to think that they would want to, if you get what i mean?

When I do something for someone its out of the goodness of my heart and I never except anything in return. I'm just a nice person and I believe if you treat people nice and are able to help, you are then behaving how God wishes us too!
