My trip to Ottawa

Sorry I haven't had a chance to start a discussion about my trip yet.. things were rather busy with hubby home, then yesterday he finally went back to work, so I had loads to do around here!
The trip was nice and rather uneventful. We stayed with a friend who lives downtown Ottawa. We arrived late Saturday. We spent some of the day Sunday walking around, but it was rather cold so we didn't stay out long. Monday was much nicer and we spent the majority of the day out and about. We came home on Tuesday.
Sunday had been Mother's Day, and Tuesday was my birthday, so my friend wanted to spoil me rotten. The whole weekend was all about whatever I wanted to do. My friend even babysat the kids so hubby and I could go to a movie Monday night. We saw Wolverine.
It was a fun weekend!
Have you ever been to Ottawa? Is it someplace you'd like to visit for a weekend?

Glad you had a good trip and some time out without the kids it was lovely of your friend to babysit for you. Its hard with kids to get time out. I have never been to Ottawa, maybe I would go for a visit but not sure as there are lots of other places that I would like to see first!!

I can't exactly say Ottawa would have been my first vacation choice, but it's inexpensive due to my friend who lives there. Instead of a hotel we just stay with her. Plus it is kinda neat visiting the capitol of another country.
My ultimate goal is to visit a few European countries. I'd love to see London, Paris, Rome, Venice... and maybe Spain.

I am glad that you had a lovely time in Ottawa. You had mother's day and your birthday there so it was really special for you. It was superb that your friend baby sat your children so that you and your husband could go to the movies together. It was a shame that the weather was a bit poor at times. To have a whole weekend doing whatever you like must have been really great. I am saving up to visit Canada next year and I know it is a large country. One day I would like to visit Ottawa but I am aware I probably won't have time to see it in 2010. I shall be heading over to Vancouver first and then moving off from there.

I'm glad that yo enjoyed our trip. You deserve being spoiled and this was good. I have never been to Canada - although I will see a little when I go on the cruise end of August. I am so looking forward to it. It was good for your children to be in another country with a different culture and see different things. I hope that you had a great mother's day too

Canada is a long way from where I live so I doubt if I´ll ever get there. But I have now a motive to try to get enough money to go to Canada. I made friends with a very nice Canadian and he has sent me pictures and told me many things of a country that useed to be just a big spot in the upper part of the globe
