Scripture - John 18:10 "Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear.(The servant's name was malchus)." Peter was willing to fight for Jesus, but later he denied that he knew Jesus. Peter believed that Jesus was the King that was supposed to reign, but he did not understand God's plan. Many time we too, don't understand God's plans, then we do some silly things, almost like Peter did. God is bigger than violence and we do not need violence to defend Him or to try and prove Him. God is big enough to prove Himself to whoever He wish to do so. Some religions use violence but for God's children it is not necesary, all we need to use is the gratest gift that God gave us, LOVE. Together with that goes grace. We only need to obey God and He will use us as witnesses to the unsaved. If we obey then we will act in love and grace. We serve a God of love and peace. Praise Him forever. Blessings

Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul and strength. The the second greatest? To love your neighbor as yourself. He said these two commands sum up the law and the prophets. If we follow these two everything else will fall into place. God is great, all the time!

I praise Him, Beertjie. When I can remember not to paddle too much, He takes my canoe to places where I can see that it serves Him. The river of His life, His Way, flows under us all. Some think that they can see where it leads and busy ourselves in guiding the flotsam that accompanies us in the way that we see as right; others believe that all the bends and rapids need canalizing - straightening and deepening - and would strongly show us the way. In fact, those that will easiest make it to the ocean are those that show the least resistance - those who allow themselves to float like leaves on the flood.
