Okay for those of you who read a previous post from me, you should remember that my husband hit a moose about 2 weeks ago. From what we could see the only damage was the windshield and a dent in the hood.
Now, My husband was able to get it started with a jump start but while it's running the headlights wont turn off and the lights on the dashboard keep flickering. My husband hasnt had the ride to get out to where our van is to fix it but he will have a ride in about a week or so to go look it over. We think it might be the battery causing it but then again it could be something more serious. We only have limited money to fix this as we have a new baby on the way and we need our van back asap.
If anyone has any ideas or knows what it could be I would be so happy to hear what you have to say. I'm just stressing out, with 3 children in the house they are getting very antsy and want to go places. I would also like to bring my new daughter home in our car and not have a friend have to bring me home from the hospital.
Thank you all so much for reading. I'd like to hear your response.

Hi magrylouyu! It could be the serpentine belt got knocked loose on the impact with the moose. Or it could be the pulley got knocked out of balance for the belt or belts, when the van impacted with the moose. Iwould check the battery first, as this maybe the problem, but if it is not the problem then i would check the belts and pulleys. With an animal that large it could be any number of things, hopefully it will be something simple. We don't have moose here, but we have deer that can cause major damage to a vehicle, both cosmetic and motor wise.

The first thing I would check is the connections on the all of the wires. IF the hood was dented, a few other things may have shifted a bit as well. The wires may have moved a bit so the connections arent good.
Im not very good with cars, so I dont know what else it could be.
I hope you get it back up and running soon!
