We drink from cans too. We also save our cans to sell also. I had my soon to be husband buy a huge trash can with a lid and we put it in the laundry room. We wash out the cans to keep ants or bugs out of them. My children like recycling and they love the extra money.

I save pop cans, but I seldom drink pop out of them. I find them now and then, and sometimes one of the kids will leave one here. When I lived out of town, I'd go walking down the highway with a plastic bag and found lots that way. It can take awhile to get enough to turn in any more, though!

I have been collecting aluminum cans ever since I was a kid. I remember walking along the side of the road or taking a bag on my bicycle and picking up cans. I still collect cans. If I am out and about, I will pick them up and throw them in the back of my truck. Or if I am walking I will make note of where they are at and pick them up on the way back home.
It's great to get a little back on the cans you drink from and also to make a penny here and there on somebody else's trash.

The teens at church started collecting cans last September to help raise money for their summer mission trip. They have asked all our members to bring their cans. We don't buy alot of drinks in cans, but save those we do use and I also will pick up any I see when I am out walking.

We save our soda cans here too. Though hubby thinks it's a waste sometimes. But you know when we took our garage down & cashed in the siding the money he got then was nothing to sneeze at! Though I don't like that most of them pay a lower rate if you bring in under 10lbs of cans. I really hate t hang on them that long w/o having somewhere to store them beyond a plastic garbage can in the yard. *sigh* Oh well.

We don't do that here as we don't drink that many items with cans so that it wouldn't really add up for us and be more of a waste. Also we're not sure that he facility does recycle, so we just don't bother to take so little of cans to the place. It's a good idea, to save the environment!
