some time ago my granddaughter bought a brownie mix. I got to thinking how good cherries go with chocolate so I decided to make the brownies with a can of cherries that I had in the cupboard. I just followed the direction on the box substituting the cherry juice for the liquid that the mix called for then added the can of cherries. They turned out very good. They didn't linger as long as they usually do. Now I have a can of pineapple that I'm going to do up tonight. Pineapple and chocolate sound just as good as chocolate and cherries do. What do you think?

Come on down Polly while I still have some. The kids hand I have been at them and just about have them finished off. The cherries ones are better then the pineapple ones. You really can't taste the pineapple like you can the cherries. They are good just not like the ones I add the cherries too.

Those sound so good. Let us all know how the pineapple ones turn out. I am going to have to try those cherry ones. I might have to make them for my wedding.

The pineapple turned out not to add much flavor to the brownies the way the cherries did but it was still ok. Nice and moist. So I will stick to adding the cherries.

try them before you plan on them for your wedding. I used regular Oregons Red tart cherries.

That sounds excellent - I wist that I oculd taste it. I have had a yearning for a few days for a good home baked banana cake so when I wleave work in a few hours then I will go home and bake it. ?sometimes my son and I htink alike as this morning he asked me how long it had been since I had baked a banana cake. So this is my priority this afternoon as I am only working half day. Many blessings and let us know how the pineapple substiution turned out. Blessings

Love banana bread. We decided the pineapple really didn't add to the brownies. It didn't take away from them just couldn't taste any pineappple in them the way we could the cherries. So I'll just stick to adding cherries to the brownies when we want a change.

I don't think pineapple sounds as good as the cherry and chocolate. Something better than cherry with chocolate is Raspberry with chocolate that is the best to me. Enjoy your pineapple with chocolate I hope you like it.

I'm not much on raspberries. The pineapple didn't turn out as good s the cherries did. The pineapple really didn't do much for brownies. It didn't take away from them just didn't add to them the way the cherries did.

The cherries with the brownies sounds EXCELLENT! I make a lot of brownies but just add the usual. Chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, walnuts. I've never thought of different fruit. I'll try the cherries next time I make brownies which is probably be tomorrow. As for the pineapple, that does sound good too. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm not much of a fan for regular brownies so I decided to try a can of cherries. And now my mouth is watering for the pineapple ones. I also think that adding some fruit makes them a little healthier.

I think fruit and chocolate is just a great combination in general! I would be careful about what kind of juice you use in the brownie mix. If you are using syrup the brownies may turn out too sweet because they already have so much sugar in them. I have a recipe for chocolate raspberry bars. They are like a fudgy brownie. One of the things I love about them is that they use fruit juice rather than sugar to sweeten them. Delicious!

I just used the juice that was on the cherries. They were red tart cherries. s for the pineapple in the brownies they turned out ok but not like the cherries did. You couldn't taste the pineapple like you could the cherries. But they were still good.

Oh be sure to get the cherries in their own juice and not the pie filling.
