Scripture - John 19:1 - 5 "Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head. Then they clothed Him in a purple robe and went up to Him again and again, saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' And they struck Him in the face. Once more Pilate came out and said to the Jews, 'Look, I am bringing Him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against Him.' When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, 'Here is the Man.'" One of the worst things that people can do to us is to humiliate us, especialy if it is in front of other people, or even a crowd of people. Here we see Jesus being humiliated in a very bad manner, and worse even, the humiliation did not end here, it went on up to the cross, until He died. Through all of this humitliation, not once did Jesus lose his temper. He also did not lose His selfesteem because He knew who He was. He knew what they did not know. Jesus also knew who it was that humiliated Him. He knew it would not be worth it to fight against foolish people only acting on command. Jesus also knew where He was going, and better yet, He knew why all this was happening. Let us become like Jesus and be humble. Sometimes things happen to us, that, if we try and defend ourself, we will look even more foolish. Sometimes it is best to just stay quiet, turn away and pray for the person that has whronged us. That is what Jesus did on the cross, He prayed for their forgiveness. Let us pray for those who do us wrong and instead of making enemies, let us make brothers and sisters in Christ. May God give you strength to overcome.
