Hi, MyLotters! I'm just curious to know if anyone here loves to grow bromeliads. I think they're awesome...when a plant is old enough, it starts to sprout offshoots of itself, or "pups". Right now, I have one little neoregelia pup growing, several billbergias, which have a ton of pups that I really need to put in separate pots, and a couple of others whose names I've forgotten. I just wanted to know if anyone else loves these plants as much as I do. :D

I know that they have them at Winn-Dixie (at least the one where I live does), but they tend to be about $30 or so, which is why I haven't had the chance to collect any different plants. :( Maybe one day. lol Here's a site with some good information in case you're interested. www.bsi.org Happy MyLotting!

I love bromeliads too. We have a couple pineapple plants that we finally got to successfully root after we took them from the fruit of a couple pineapples. It'll probably be some years before they set off pups, but we thought it was a good investment. My Mom has some hens and chicks planted in the front yard, too.
