Everyone has a differnt shape to their body.
Some places get fatter more easily than others. What are your problem areas and what do you do about them?
I tend to gain weight easily around my cheeks and upper arms. I absolutely hate it. I've tried all sorts of arm exercises but nothing seems to make a difference.

I gain weight on my hips, thighs, and butt. I've just tried to accept the shape of my body. There are worse things in life that having a big bum. More importantly, I've tried to focus on being healthy not on looks. Feeling energized and strong makes me feel so much better than looking thin ever could.

interesting topic.
Perhaps the blood circulation in different parts of our body differ. (I think more blood flow wold cause more body fat to be deposited specially when insulin level is high. I read it is our biology that determines if get fatter than others. :) )
Perhaps this (uneven blood circulation) is one reason why some people may e.g. feel larger in the legs and thighs and waist as compared to upper portion of the body.
I can only imagine trying to prevent excessive blood circulation in parts of the body by :
- lowering the actual sugar-level in the blood by strict diet
- or wearing tight clothing as appropriate ... (please comment)
- any ideas?
