Fun Things to Do Around Dallas TX

I have lived in Plano, TX, north of dallas, my entire life. I have recently been looking for fun and interesting (preferably inexpensive) things to do in and around the metroplex. I know of the main things, like the museums and things like that, but I am looking for off the beaten path type things. Anyone have any ideas?
