there are a lot of nicknames out there that i can't even understand what they mean so i was wondering: does it have a meaning? are you usually called by it by your friends? is it a new persona? is it just a word or an expression you like? let me know people!

My name is Malak which means an Angel so my best best friend calls me my Angel. My other friends call me mokka which I think it's just another way to call me instead of Malak. And I love both actually. That's why I use this user name when I sign up with forums "AngelMokka" :)

Thanks Catarina, yeah I like the name as well. Imagine that my husband told me if we had a baby girl one day he will name her Malak. I didn't accept though and I told him that he doesn't need two angels to guard him :P It's Arabic. I also heard angel in Turkish and it is really nice as well. But unfortunately I can't remember it. If can someone tell me that would be great.

i tried to find out how it is and all i came up with is Melek. but it's pretty much the same isn't it? Maybe you could name your daughter that, since it isn't really the same. a couple of years ago i found out that every generation in my family has a woman whose name means 'pure', which is a fun coincidence.

No, my nick name don't have any meaning at all. It's a weird nick, i don't know who suggested it because I was very young to remember that. And I don't like it much either so am trying hard that everybody calls me by my name and not my nick.

It depends on what the nickname is. My friends just use a shortened version of my name and my boyfriend calls me angel and that is meaningful to me. I have never had someone call me his angel and I think it is just so sweet and loving.
