ANd who was this celebrity that provoked the discussion for you?Or was the discussion just general? As far as I am concerned, I have seen one actor[though not very popular , he has been seen on t.v. and also acted as the blind brother of actress Amala in' Velaikkaran'.I once saw this actor eating in Arya Bhavan in Kodaikanal.I showed him to my son also .THis was some 10-15 yrs ago.

Wow, what an intersting incident to happen! Aishwarya Rai and Kamal!!!!!!!!!! People can say that they are human after all but they are celebrities nevertheless and are justifiably called stars.I too would have been thrilled like a teenager and would have stories and stories to share with my acquaintances , friends and relatives.

I have an intersting thing to share however. Itis not that I missed a celebrity standing nearby but oncer I participated in RajT.V'S Ladies Junction where I sat on the stage for this group discussion and Actress Suhasini conducted the show. She was very easygoing and had a nice conversational style and at one point we were sharing Sardarji jokes on stage .

In my local town I was walking through the mall when I saw this guy with a shopping bag walk past me, and I was sure I knew him, looked familiar I kept looking back and when I looked back I saw the big theatre and a picture of him up displaying the show then it hit me! He was also in one of the Soaps but was killed off! We were walking in opposite direction. I didn't turn round just smiled to think that a tv and theatre star was walking around in my town, no one else seemed to recognize him! I wonder if it had been Brad Pitt or Leonardo Di Caprio or Kate Winslet whether they'd be mobbed!

I don't think so. I have seen a few local celebs. They really are kind of hard to miss. I don't have much of a reaction. I take the approach they are just People. And these people just have fancier careers.

That hasnt happened to me before but my Mom did relate a story that is close enough. My Mom owns a small restaurant and April of last year, a national celebrity came in and dined at the place. He happens to be one of my Mom's crushes.LOL So my cousins who lived near the restaurant came just to have a photo op with the celebrity. My Mom of course didnt wait to stand in line.LOL I was tempted to go over there but its a 30 minute ride from our house to the restaurant so I just let it pass. They're only people after all. It just so happens that they're famous. Well, going back to your subject line. My Mom told me that a group of women who were also dining, only noticed the celebrity when they were starting to leave. And to think that they sat at the next table of the celebrity.tsk3 Imagine their dismay after that but at least they had good food and a glimpse of the celebrity as they turned to leave.LOL

Hi bala, I have bumped into a celeb before many years ago when I was working in London, I came out of my office to go the post office, he was not looking where he was going and bang smack into me, he was Max Bygraves, an actor and a entertainer also a singer, this was back in 1970s, he did say sorry to me, I was gobsmacked. I am not sure I have completely failed to notice, but if someone would not have told me back in 2000 I seen Ricky Henderson in person at our local airport, and would never have noticed if someone would not have told me it was him. But I have seen Alex Rodroguez from a distance and we only realized it was him after he walked by us. But being able to see a Celebrity walk right by you realizing it is them is an awesome feeling for sure.

Several years ago we were eating dinner at a casino. As we were leaving I noticed Orlando Pace, St. Louis Rams, standing near us talking with his family. He's a big man so it's hard not to notice him. All I could do was stare..lol Didn't have enough sense to ask for his autograph.

Now who's to decide who is over confident!!?? Am I sounding 'over confident'? I was into a family that has celebrity status in Bengal and I was so intimidated and bored with their lifestyle that I declined parties and gatherings altogether. The less I speak, the better it is.

Yeah. Ran into Joe Gibbs when I was on vacation at a Bob Evans and it was my dad that said... I know this guy... when I took a look I was shocked to find that one of the greatest coaches in football and owner of many NASCAR cars was eating right beside us and I didn't even notice it. Thanks Zelo

In the U.S. you usually see celebrities at the airport ,but I usually never make such a big deal about noticing a celebrity because to me they are people just like us ,but they just happen to be public figures.

The only celebrity I ever really saw out and about in the real world was Bill Murray. He was at a Cubs game that I was at. He is a big Cubs fan. He was sitting just a couple of rows away from me. That was pretty cool. I looked at him a little and then I went back to watching the game, I was not going to bother him or anything.

I cant say that I have ever NOT noticed someone (celeb or otherwise) standing next to me I have seen actors, basketball players, football players, hockey players and wrestlers my reaction is usually dependant on what is going on around them if they are swamped by fans I just roll my eyes if they arent then i give them a smile and a hi and let them go about their business

Have you ever noticed a celebrity standing next to you......... Nope I have never noticed a celebrity standing next to me but there was one that was in the same restaurant that I was in at one time. My hubby and I talked about getting his autograph but I decided it wasn't really all that important to me. I don't know why but I've never really gotten too hyped up over celebrities. After all they are just people with a big paycheck......

I nearly walked right into a famous indian actress Bala once while going up the stairs of a hotel. I never noticed her at all, simply because i was too preoccupied with my thoughts. Even after that it took me a few moments to register. Probably because i never was a fan in any case. Also they are made to look so different on the screen.

Kamal - The real actor in Indian cinema.
I won't believe that I didn't recognize Aishwarya Bachan in the Airport. It is not that she is not pretty. As you have said she looked so small and simple in real life.My brother in law only got so excited and told me that it was Aish only.Well the second time I looked at her she looked so gorgeous.Oh the human mind. But Alok I was really taken aback a few months back when a celebrity I was rubbing shoulder literally was Kamal.I happened to feel a squat very fair handsome chap at the corner of my eyes.It took a couple of seconds that Kamal is standing close to me and browsing at the books in the Bookshop.I was thrilled like a little boy as he is the only actor I am a fan of.I can say that he has an aura around him.He looked so golden from top to bottom.

We don't really have celebrities up here. Lake Placid they do, but not in the Plattsburgh, NY area. But we do have newscasters. Several go into PetSmart. Sometimes I don't notice them. One guy, Dereck Muirden, he is on the PBS station up here and he has hosted a few shows. I felt sorry for him. He just wanted to go get something to eat and people kept waylaying him. So I walked up to him and said loudly, "I enjoy your show too, but you look hungry, let's help you get your food." He was like, "Thank you!" I've seen it at Pow Wows, too. People who are terrific dancers, they just want to get water before they pass out and people won't even let them get to a booth to buy a drink or go to the water truck. Honestly, they're just human being. But people forget that and it's a wonder they don't die of lack of food or dehydration the way people go on and on.

So true.People always tend to believe that these people too are build of bones and muscles. They have not descended from heaven. At time I feel pity for them for the price they pay for being so popular.Unthinkable.

Maybe or maybe not. I don't think I will ever notice a celebrity standing next to me, you know as I alway said I'm blur. But I think if I do ever notice a celebrity standing next to me, he or she will be surprise that they won't get any reaction from me if I notice him/her, because so what if he or she is a celebrity they are just human after all.

Some years back I was shopping and a bollywood celebrity who was quite famous at that time was standing just next to me. My general knowledge of Bollywood has always been very bad. It was only when my friend suddenly screamed out her name that I looked up at her face. Even then by the time I realized who she was she was already ten miles away from me.

I haven't - but I'm very bad at recognising people, and they probably look different in real life anyway. I doubt very much I'd notice them. I don't read those gossip magazines, so I don't really know much about film or television actors.

I haven't notice celebrity standing next to me, but I've seen local celebrities in my country in the shopping mall. I try to look at them and smile, but most of the time they don't even pay attention to other shoppers, I think for them is just another day, but for me it was my lucky day, lol.
