Pet Peeves

Today at a public restroom I nearly had my hand sawed off trying to retrieve the toilet paper from under the huge, plastic toilet paper dispenser. Does this aggravate anyone else? Remember back to a time when a simple roll of toilet paper was conveniently reachable without having to perform a gymnastic movement? Please feel free to unload your pet peeves here, and more than one if you'd like.

I hate those things, too, but they're there for the convenience of the business and not the convenience of the customer. Back when I was in college I had a classmate who routinely stole rolls of toilet paper and stacks of paper towels from the dispensers in the bathrooms. She always seemed to have it crammed in her book bag. Her excuse for this was that she was struggling to pay the cost of tuition and books so she was taking anything that she could from the college.
My pet peeve is people who tailgate. I don't have as much of a problem with it now that I live in a less congested area but I can't begin to count the number of times I wanted to slam on my brakes and teach the person who was riding my back bumper a lesson.

You are so right about the "convenience of the business", I'll have to start wearing my thick, rawhide gloves when I manipulate that tp dispenser, ha! Thanks much for your amusing post.

Lol! Sorry... It's just that your email rekindled such "fond" bathroom memories! lol! I also remember the day when the paper towels were on one roll and they would be nasty... and the day when you could actually wash your hands by turning on the facet... not have to chase the water and do gymnastics to keep it running so you can rinse your hands! Ha! Thanks for the memories!!

You are so right about the "turning on the faucet", lol, I didn't get out much when those came into existence, and my first time using I thought the plumbing was messed up. Thanks for your uplifting write.
