I had to read this poem way back when I was in high school and then forgot about it. I ran into it today and wonder why I did not appreciated it then. It is truly thought provoking but written in language that is simple and easy to understand. Do you find that you now appericiat thing more when you can read them for your own enjoyment and they are not being forced on you?
The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

I believe in faith, when two roads in front of you,it's a sign that fortune will come.One of them is just try to attrac you and make you wrong.

Yes, I agree. Experiences like this are much more appreciated when they are not forced upon us. Although, I have always thought that I would revisit "War and Peace" when I found some time. I thought I would like to make a list of the characters as they are introduced in the book so that I could keep track of who the author was talking about. Then I learned that there are somewhere around 500 characters in the book. My thoughts were "never mind." Now it is very clear to me why this was so frustrating to read in school. Along with all the other assignments, we had a book to read where you have to remember 500 people in and out of a storyline. Right!

We too were having this poem in our syllabus. Its really good!
Well, I've gone through such a situation. Last year, when I completed my 12th std ,I was short of 6 marks to qualify in the exam for entrance to the prestigious IIT. However, I got a decent rank in another exam. I had to decide whether I should move into the college or take a drop, take a chance and prepare for JEE (the exam).
This year, the number of seats increased several-fold and I regret that I chose for admission in college..
The Road not taken!! :(
