Is there a way to link discussions?

Can you create a link within one discussion to an earlier one? This would help keep older conversations current, cut down on alot of multiple postings of the same question, and save me time.
PS - I really like that last reason.

I am not really sure but I think that is what tags are used for. I think you can search certain tag names and it should bring up a list of discussions that were made using those words.

Essentially true, I guess, but not what I was thinking of using the links for. I wrote more above.
