so two weeks ago my sister punched me in the arm twice really hard...and i thought that it was just bruised. i was trying to vacuum and it was hurting. i didnt think anything of it until it started really killing me to move it. i went to the ER because my mom was worried it could be dislocated. the doctor told me it was just a bruise under the skin, and to go home. he didnt even look at it! i have been icing and heating it and also taking some pain killers. now its been 2 weeks and im going to the doctor tomorrow to have it checked out again. is it physically possible for me to be walking around with a broken or dislocated arm for 2 weeks? i know its not just a bruise because ive been in cheer so long that i would get hit and i would get bruises but this is so much worse! its painful to move and its painful to sleep. what do you think?

Ok my DD &hearts darling daughter&hearts so since the dr or whomever it was that told you .. its just a bruise didnt understand the pain you are in .and the meds dont seem to be working. .. here is what I think you should do . . visualize the pain is gone . . .for think about it .. our bodies do react to the thoughts we make....Our psychological/emotional state affects the endocrine system . for example, the emotion of fear is related to the adrenaline. If no feeling of fear exists there is no adrenaline and the same applies in reverse - no adrenaline, no fear. They work in relationship to each other. Wherever a though goes there is a body chemical reaction . . so think no pain in that arm and voila . .you can make it go away .. if this too fails . . .pray? with loving &hearts&hearts's your MM &hearts mylot mamma&hearts

hello Britt It could be possible , but also you could have damaged a tendon or a muscle in your arm , and that's might last for 4 - 6 weeks according to the regeneration process. upon physical examination most fractures would appear , but if it was incomplete fracture it will be hard to be diagnosed without having X-Ray .. make sure that you get X-ray for your arm

noo you should have X-Ray , go and ask specifically for it .. if there is any fracture it will be shown on it , otherwise you ill stay on conservative treatment

I am not sure a punch alone would break your arm. Something unusual must be going on with, though, for it to hurt so much and for this long. Perhaps the punch was hard enough to bruise both muscle and bone. Or it could have damaged tendons. It is definitely worth making an appointment with a doctor who will follow through and check your arm thoroughly with xrays or a CAT scan. I hope it feels better soon! Karen

hello britt, it might be something much worse than just a bruise but i dont think it is dislocated. go get a second opinion. if it is dislocated, i think you will have a difficulty raising or even just putting pressure to it. but be positive. just have it looked by another doctor and let's see what his opinion is. love, ann
