Stomach problems after surgery

I had an appendectomy on May 16 and while the surgeon was at it, he fixed an umbilical hernia that I've had for 21 years that I got when I was pregnant with my first child. I don't know if that's got anything to do with my problems or not. (Anyway, long story short, the incision got infected and I've been seeing the doc twice a week since them and have to pack the open incision twice a day with saline soaked gauze. I might get it stitched up Monday but there's still green infection on the packings when I change them) So ever since my surgery my stomach is upset whenever I eat something. Doesn't matter what it is but jello and clear soup seem to do the least damage. It's not painful but it's like a medium-bad stomach ache. I understood when I was on pain meds but I'm not on anything now and it's still uncomfortable when I eat something. This has done wonders for my weight loss program but I'm concerned, I don't know if this is normal or not or has anything to do with the hernia repair. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks for letting me whine!

OMG girl. you maybe need to see another dr. just to get another opinion. this infection and upset doesnt sound good. my hubbies dr. kept telling him he had an ulcer. so for years he let the stomache upsets go as just an ulcer. by the time we found out it was cancer it was to late. i really think you should get another opinion on whats going on here.sorry, dont mean to upset you. its important tho.

I'm so sorry about your husband's cancer! I've been seriously thinking about a second opinion and if I don't get a satisfactory answer Monday I'm going to seek one. I also have some pain when I take a deep breath and when I asked him about it he asked if I smoked. Well, I smoke about 8 cigs a day and he said that was the reason. But I didn't have it before the surgery. Problem is, I have no regular doctor as I moved here 2 years ago and haven't needed a doc for about 5 years. Thanks for your concern, and my condolences for your husband.
