i started off in one store and loved it. the manager there is great and the training wonderful. then i was transferred to another unit and they say it is only for a few weeks. i figured that was fine. i am training for management. the manager though in this store is well i cant believe it. she cusses at everyone, downs them, threatens there jobs, wants them to work off the clock, doesnt schedule enough people and epects perfection with being short 1-3 people. she fires someone every few days. she has even threatened to write me up cause she wants the unit to look one way but to do that with so few people we have to stay longer at lose then what she wants so it is a no win sulotion i am in trouble for not leaving store good enough but in trouble for working to many hours. i love the job and the company but this person is nuts. she told me the other dy she wants to keep me there instea of having me go back to my store and to tell you the truth i would quit first but i need my job. i am hanging in there thinking i am going back to my store but if i dont go back soon it will be time to find another job. hav you ever ran into a person like this

I am still in my first job under the same manager for a few years already. I got to say my boss is a good one as she treats us quite good and that she will shield us out from external problems when we need her support.
Now, I can understand how frustrating it is to see a boss that is not doing his job good enough. But then, I tend to think it the other way round, if you can see how bad he is doing, you can learn from his mistakes so that you know for sure you don't run into the same mistakes when it is your time. So, consider it is a chance to learn.

i know what you are saying but trust me i would never do what she does like call someone names and degrade them. i would never threaten there jobs because they choose to talk to there couin off the clock and i dont like the cousin. i wouldnt tell someone they should not talk or be around there family memebers. that is the stuff this person does

I've worked for several people like this over the years the worst one though was really just jealous because the company had offered me the job before her and I turned it down... She wanted me out of there and she won - I quit :) just walked in her office dropped my unfinished projects on her desk and topped the pile off with my id card telling her at the same time just what she could do with her job. 2 days later I was working from home doing the same type work and getting paid 2 times the money I was getting paid by the company.

How can that type of management be lega? Isn't there a human resources department to report that kind of behaviour to? I wouldn't last five minutes in a job like that, I don't care how badly I needed the money!! That is the real advantage to being on disability benefits from the government. I don't have to put up with that kind of crap.

I work for a major corporation now. I left a position and took the same position doing the same thing less work and 12,00 increase. What i wasnt told and letter the manager told me she didnt tell me because I would not have taken the job. She is no longer their BTW she was fired... The supervisors are manipulative belittle their team and micro management them. Well i came in not baking down because the place I been working for treated everyone like adults gave you your space to do your job everything was great other than the salary. Actually when I left they counter offered up to 800 of my new salary. Since 5,000 was bonus based I still took the new job because they were getting funny with the bonuses not giving all of it to us.
As I was saying, the new company strive for excellence but the department is like a belittles, micromanage to the point the manager tells the associates how to organize the files on there desk etc the managers listens to morning voicemail on speaker and everyone no people business. the associates just deal with it because of the current eonomy and they have family with kids.
I am higher than the associates so I dont deal with all that but feel for them. I my direct report was the director I am salary and never left at 430 and was always in before my time so if i was sometimes a little late he was like its ok just call or if it was a stressfull day he suggest taking an extra hour for lunch. I am used to if there is no notices are complaints from other departments then everything must be going ok.
Well we have a new manager and he is a bully like the supervisors. I been there last year and most heavy times is year in for reporting and I was still learning the computer system and only 1 person that did what i did left out sick and still out .. so i had to close the year without training find reports to balance the year nothing match so i spent a lot of weekend at work in january. not to mention burning out huge fires from issues of the previous person in my position. I built some access database to organize and streamline procedures and had to write a procedure manaual learn the contacts of other departments to retreive or give into to for the year end close. also keep current work up. I was swamped and i did eventually have a mental breakdown working long hours and my cycle was coming on LOL crying for no reasons and couldnt sleep.
i forced myself a week off and left the state and went to my granparents in the country for some tranquility. i was so reguvenated after that trip.
all the being said i was working over 20 on the weekend and long hours during the week. remember i am salary i was written up by the new manager for bing 20 minutes late to work monday morning... btw that is true an no i didnt leave information out thats what he did. the manager and i had a fallen out when he first start he pulled me in the directors office because he was mad that i didnt make him a copy of a sheet i had on my desk. crazy and the director didnt say anything but whispered i was right but the manager over talked him that he probably didnt hear the director...
lately i been working my regular hours no more no less. when he written me up he told me the next would be termination... i called HR and reassured that would not happen and was told to go back that i must have misundered stood. so i went back and he said was i originally heard. i told him that was not the companies policy he said that was his expectations. CRAZY.
UNFORTUNETLY THERE ARE BULLIES IN MANAGEMENT THAT ARE UNHAPPY FOR SOME REASON OTHER. and sadly they hold your livelyhood in their hands.
well the corporate offic has an HR team builder workshops going on and it seems like its a time for the associates to bash the management to i guess they feel they are being heard and relieving stress sadly the seasoned co workers said they had them before and nothing happened.
i been to HR because of the new person treatment with me 4 times since january. well a temp starting next month and he wants me to train them on everything i know.... what that tell you...
sorry for the venting... but sad
