I am a Chinese, so of course, I know how to use it. I know lots of other disticts use spoon and fork, also some place use nothing but their hands.
How about you? Mylotters, do you think it's hard to learn to use chopsticks?
Or you have never heard of this before. Feel free sharing you opinions, I's like to know how do you think about it.

For the longest time, I had a very difficult time using chopsticks. For some reason, I just could not use them. But a few years ago, my luck changed. I learned how to use chopsticks successfully. And I have been able to use them ever since then. I don't know how my luck changed or anything. All I know is that it has.

Finally you learned, I think learn to use it is hard but there are still some skills existing. Once you master it, it's a easy job. Do you agree with me? Haha, can you pick up a piece of tofu every time successful, a grain of peanut as well.
Happy mylotting, Dodo19.

yes i know how to use chopstick... fortunately i learned it early, i have practiced it when i was still young. i think its really hard to learn to use it, i am practicing my kids now so they will learn it at an early age. those who started using chopstick or practiced them as adults finds it harder because most adults easily give up, where kids are not, and sometimes kids enjoy it even if they make a mess, while adults dont and find it really annoying.

hi pengbubu!
definitely i can use chopsticks. it is easy to learn. at first try, it feels uneasy due to holding thin sticks in between our fingers but eventually our fingers gets to go with the flow of our hand as it gets used to it.

Yes, I do. I'm Chinese too :-) and I know how to use chopsticks when I was little. I had a little problem using it when I was small but when I was getting older, I do better. I like to use chopsticks as my favourite eating ware.

Left hand is hard. I can use Chinese chopstick with my left hand, but not Japanese chopsticks. For those of you who don't know there is a difference.

I have eaten Chinese food here in America but I have never used Chopsticks. I am faimilur with what they are. I have seen in some of the Chinese resturnats instructions on how to use them but I have never tried. When I do eat at a Chinese resturant I use fork and spoon.

I tried once to use chopsticks - eating rice!
I gave up as I found it an impossible task.
I am used to a knife, fork and spoon and I admire those of you who can eat with chopsticks. You are wizards!

It is definitely an acquired skill. I learned a long time ago when I used to go into Chinese restaurants and always wanted to learn. The hardest thing is eating soup with chopsticks
.
I often wonder who came up with the idea of eating with sticks in one hand in the first place. I know it tends to be easier with Chinese and far eastern food as it tends to be chopped up when it is prepared.

I recently started using chopsticks when I eat sushi. It was really hard for me. Then I found out I was holding them wrong. After learning the correct way I can do it fairly well. My hands cramps up some probably because I am not used to it.

I never found it difficult to use chopsticks. I've spent a lot of time in Asia, and while the metal chopsticks are a bit heavier they still aren't that hard to use. I think it really depends on what age you were taught to use them. I learned in elementary school, however, I have friends who will most likely never pick it up because they waited until they were in their 30s to have their first go at them. They simple get frustrated and give up.

Oh, yes, your are right. I think it's easy to learn things when we are young.
30s is a little older for learning it. I learn it when I can eat rice by myself, it's hard that time, I think. But I don't remember any details about my first time learning to use chopstick, haha!
Happy everyday, Martinishakerer. I love China!

... japanese use chopstick also and so are koreans.
