Would you rather...

Be tried as a criminal and spend a few years in jail, or be sued in a lawsuit for an amount of money that you would have to take your whole life to pay?

Never ever give up your freedom willingly. If this was a real scenario the money would still be owed after your release. Nevertheless, things happen over a lifetime that may allow you to pay the debt off quicker. For example; The debt might be forgiven or you may become wealthy. I would never give up my freedom willingly. ‹(°¿°)›

Now you're not being a realist. Think of the odds. ‹(°¿°)›

I'm too much of a realist to believe in the possibility of debts being forgiven or suddenly becoming wealthy. I think that if you're already poor and then you get sued, you're pretty much screwed forever. I'd rather take the jail time, if it was, as I implied, an "either/or" scenario.

I rather spend some time in jail and get it over with, than having to worry about the burden of paying something off for the rest of my life. It would suck to have that on your record, but it would suck even more to be broke for the rest of your life.

I agree. And once you're out of jail, even though you do still have the record, there's nothing to say that you can't make a decent life for yourself. My dad's an ex-con, and he seems to be doing pretty well for himself.

I will not do all of that questions above.I will not gamble my life for that and let myself suffer.I just want a simple and easy life.It is hard to life in poor life but it is better than you need to spend your life in jail even only a few years or be sued in a lawsuit and need to pay it back for whole of my life.I will never think to or brave to do that.Thank you and have a nice day.

Just in case I committed a crime I rather pay for the bail rather than suffer in jail because I know I won't have a life in their. But I choose not to do a crime of course. I won't comprise myself in doing it.

Yes, of course, the obvious choice is not to commit a crime. A lot of people do though, thinking that it's small and that they won't have to pay. I read recently about a woman who was sued for $30,000 for illegally downloading 26 songs on the internet.

Does it matter what the crime was? Well, I guess I'd rather spend time in jail, as long as I get a cell to myself, I don't want some big, bossy hoyden in there with me. I wouldn't mind being sued though, if I had a disease with only months to live, then they could sue the pants off me, and I wouldn't care at that point.

I think I probably agree with you. I'd rather lose a few years than spend my whole life living in poverty.
