A two time, back to back MVP of the league?! Voted by his peers ? This is great! I knew I loved him and preferred him to Crosby but I thought it was my hometown bias. Well I guess everyone sees how he plays each shift as it is his last. He truly enjoys the game.He is genuinely happy when a teammate scores and celebrates just as much for them as when he scores himself.He is joy to watch. He may or may not get his name on the Cup but he Is a hockey super star. Take That Cherry!

Wow. the Russians have taken over. Having Ovechkin win solidifies his rep as the most valuable player in the league. But having seen Ovechkin's highlight reels, I cannot rank him higher than Pavel Bure (in his prime) in terms of being the most dynamic and exciting player ever.
I think Bure was much faster and his highlight reel is something to behold, but I never thought he was MVP material, even though I'm a Canucks fan. Of course, Bure played in the era of Gretzky and Lemieux. So what I'm saying is that Ovechkin is basically a Pavel Bure, an exciting but non-winner of a Stanley Cup.

I agree. I love Ovie but Bure was sooo much better.I am so happy that I get to see Ovie and looks like he will be cap for a long time.Hopefully he will hoist the Cup real soon.
