I was just on the phone with my mom. She and my dad are elderly and they live with my older brother. My brother just brought a new 6 week old kitten home. It is a little female tabby. She has blue eyes (right now) and mainly brown, beige and cream. They named her "Taffy" because of her belly colour. I wish I could see her. She sounds adorable. I could hear her purring whle I was on the phone with my mom. She said that Taffy was climbing up onto her lap and rubbing against the phone and that's why the purring was so loud. I just love the sound of a cat's purr. It is such a happy, soothing sound to me.
The reason I said that my mom got a new kitten and not my brother is because my brother is at work all day so I know exactly who will be feeding it and cleaning the litter box. And it won't be my brother. I wish that my husband wanted pets, I would love to get a little kitten too. I always had cats growing up, but my husband says there is enough mess here with our four kids without having a cat or dog too.

Cats are so easy to look after and don't make any mess,i've got 3 kids,a partner and 4 cats and my cats don't cause me any problems. My partner didn't want a 4th cat so i got one without asking him, just bought it home,he was cross but now he adores Otis as much as i do

compromise, get a lizard or a turtle. When I was a kid a little boy down the street wanted a pet, but his sister had asthma really bad so they got him a turtle. At the very least there won't be any fur shedding and a pet would teach kids responsibility
