As some of you know my hubby is in Chicago this week. He has to take 24 credit hours of instruction to keep his certification current for his job. Yesterday was the 1st day. He was in class from 7 am until 7 pm with a few breaks. The schedule is the same for today-- 7 am - 7 pm. Now it's been a while but isn't 12+12 24? So why then on Wednesday will he be in class from 7 am until 1pm ?? I am confused!

I think they possibly took all his breaks and maybe lunch and dinner out of that time so it had to be made up on Wednesday..possibly??

I have no idea how they add up those hours. I guess they go by each class of ceritification or something like that. It does not make much sense for him to have to another day of long hours though. That sucks.

Covering for break time and lunch time in the previous "24" plus...probably the 24 hours is just teaching hours.. not asking question hours! Bottom line... they got you there so they can do as they please!

Seems inexplicably without further information. I would suggest, however, that at least lunch hour might need accounting for. You do not usually earn any sort of credit during lunch.

It's probably from the breaks. My husband's job is the same way. I know he usually works 3 nights until 9pm, one night until 7, and then on Saturday he's out at 2 or 3. Then there are weeks he has to go in earlier than usual, but he's not getting home any earlier, and I always wonder about that. He's not allowed to go over 50 hours a week, if he does they don't pay him for it. So I don't know what's going on or where those hours are going. He doesn't always take a lunch break either. He's supposed to and he's scheduled for one, but sometimes he just doesn't get one, but he doesn't come home any earlier.
