I'm much interested in working with media files. I need few softwares which can
1. Split video and audio from a video file
2. Enhance the quality of a poor quality video
3. Split, join and edit videos
4. Create movies using various videos, music, pics etc (like Windows Movie Maker)
They must be freewares and must be easy to use! Please let me know if you know such softwares!

I will give you some websites where you will find lots of video and audio editing softwares as well as lots of other softwares. They are:
1.softarchive.net
2.forum.astalavista.ms
3.mininova.org ( torrents site)
All the above sites have good collection of softwares. Most of the softwares are commercial but they provide the serial key for it. You will definitely find lots of video and audio editing softwares there with valid serial keys.

why dont you give a try to nero 8 ultra version...
it has all the facility that u have mentioned ...
i uses the same for all that...and it has many more features too..
