Remember when cellphones came out, and then the ones you get to fit right in the ear? All of a sudden it is no longer just the crazy people talking to themselves. But it's all right, half of us have iPods or MP# players, (and almost all of the younger people) so we're not listening to anyone anyway. So - in your opinion - is this a giant leap for mankind? All of us just walking around being personally entertained by a tiny pieces of electronics, not paying attention to our environment, or only communicating with our friends who happen to know the secret code to access your communication device? Except for the hackers who send spam to it ...

Thing is.. whlle all that is stuffed in ones ears... they are paying attnetion to that and not what they are doing..ergo lots of accidents and things like that. And yeah... years ago if you were in the store and saw/heard someone talking to themselves you'd a thought they were weird.. now..it is normal protocal! I have been in the store many times looking at something and I hear from behind me someone saying something and I turn, thinking they are talking to me... and of course.. there's that bluetooth hanging out their ear and they are talking on that. I have been bumped into, pushed aside and interupted by people with things hanging out their ears. Plus.. while listening to whatever they are listening to.. that just means time that is NOT spent talking to others or communicating with family and friends or thinking about life and their issues. Not that I don't like music and all, but I don't think it needs to be 24/7/365 every minute of every day. And cell phones.. so over rated it is ridiculous.. I mean.. why can't you just go shopping and deal with that and be done with it? Why talk on the phone while you shop.. the kids get cranky and you hold peopple up in line and spend more time doing the shopping than needs to be so you loose that time for doing something else. No one, other than a few professionals needs to be accessible 24/7/365 like that. Doesn't anyone want any "down time" or personal time or just time to themselves? ANd throw in text messaging.. talk about another stupid creation! And now Twitter! And all anyone does is complain about the problems they cause. I was listneing to the computer tech guy show on the radio and for the first 22 minutes of the show he talked about how he "tweeted" about something about that election in iran.. and it went balastic.. only to find out that what he said happened, DIDN'T happen and now he knows that he should research better before he posts things. I think techonology for this kind of stuff is going far to fast and prominent in the daily life these days. I'd love nothing more than if someone would just write me a couple pages of a letter ( you know with one of those old fashioned things they called "pen and paper' and mail it to me so I can get it in my mail box and enjoy reading it!
