How did you decide on your children's names? Were they family names, popular names, names of famous people or from fictional people? My first child is named Kim, she was named after Kipling's book Kim, I didn't care if the baby was a girl or a boy that was the name I chose. It turned out that Kim was also the name of a very popular movie star and so there were several Kim's in her classes. How did you name your children?

My little girl’s name is Kayla Michelle. I found Kayla in a magazine many years ago; it was the name of a beautiful porcelain ballerina; it was not as common as it is now back then and I have always liked the name. Michelle is another name I always appreciated. I decided to use it as a middle name because it is such a common one. It took me a long time to fall pregnant and in the meantime I had Kayla M as my computer password at work. Fortunately I had a girl, I have no idea what I would I would have named her if she had been a boy!

My son is named after a person in the Bible, Daniel and his middle name is after his grandfather. My daughter have my grandmother's maiden name and my middle name. So they are mostly named after family.

My son is named after family members. His name first is common, Christopher, then he has two other names after his two grandfathers. My daughter's name is more unique in that we put two family names together. Her dad's name is Ronnie and my sister is Kenella. We put those two together to make "ronella" and then she shares my middle name.

When I first fell pregnant with my daughter I had a list of 80 plus names for her first name and went through it continuously crossing some out and adding others I liked - I think I was a little obsessed! In the end the name Aimee just came out of the blue when we had our scan and found out we were having a little girl. It had never been on any list though it just felt right. My daughter also has three middle names and these are all very family based. The first is the feminine form of my dads name. We were always going to use his name for a boy though when he fell ill and passed away two weeks before my daughter was born I just knew I had to use his name somehow in my daughters name. Her second middle name is shared with the middle names of my sister and niece and her third middle name is after my nan (as well as shared middle names with my mum and other sister) who I lost at 16.
