being called sweetheart, my love, angel, flower, blossom, even honeybunch as long as you are a significant number of years my senior and a woman. I know that sounds sexist, but if a man calls you any of those names I defy you not to find it creepy and ever so slightly pervy, unless they're texan, in that case they can say what they like!
If that makes me ageist, then ageist be I!
I keep getting these 17/18 year old children calling me "hun" or "honey" or "babes"

I find it very creepy if a stranger was calling me those names on the street or anywhere I go to. I like it best when people call me by my first name.

Do you find it easier to hear from someone older than you? Sure, but it has happen that some people have been my age or younger.

I think we all have have preferences and you do not like to be called endearing names by people who are younger or male.

I hear you loud and clear on this one! I do not like it when men use "terms of endearment" and they do not know me. It sends chills down my spine and sets off the yuck in my stomach. The last one who did that I reminded him that I did not know him and he had not earned that place in my life! He didn't like it too well I don't think!

Looks like the question has been tossed up to women in here only. Since I am a man so I'd like to reply to it being a man. What actually happens is that men call women with those names because sometime we men feel kind of attracted to the woman we are calling sweetheart, my love etc. But yeah sometime it is done just to get our work done. I for once called a girl "s*xy" just because I was feeling so hot and I wanted to have s*x with her. But I didn't actually mean. But then the women do understand what are they being praised for.
