This question is almost impossible to answer because almost every men are different. Type of women I like may be different than some other guy. Real question should be what kinds of men do your friends & cousins like? Instead of suggesting that they should improve or change, may be you should suggest for them to look for men they want to get involved with.

No, I don't think you can help them to change, coz it is hard to change one's nature. And even when you try to change, you can not easily find happiness. I think different men have dissimiliar taste on women. But the key point is to meet the right one.
