I just had some of the best watermelon so far this season. It was so sweet and very delicious. It was the kind with the seeds not seedless. For some reason the seedless ones don't seem to get as sweet to me as the ones with the seeds. Have you had any good watermelon yet this season?

Up to now, I haven't. Since I haven't a car, it would take up energy I could use for other stuff, but I promised myself some next week. I had a little but I want to load up on some; plus with my mom coming home, I am sure she wants some too.

About a week ago we had a melon that was very sweet and juicy. It was delicious. We've also been enjoying some great cantalope. Maybe my wife has finally learned to pick out the good ones. In the past we have been both delited with the melons and upset when they just don't come up to expectations. I think I'll go out and see if I can find a good watermelon.... YUMMY!

There is a community not too far from where we lived that is located close to the Illinois river that has sandy soil and they grow wonderful water melons and cantalope. The cantalope is high in potassium content and my wife is committed to making sure that I get my vitamins. So, through the summer growing season we have melon at almost every meal.

It really is tricky finding a good cantalope. Glad your wife found a good one. Enjoy your melons.

I love watermelon. In fact it is my all-time favourite fruit, but in the UK you have to wait for watermelons to be imported. I haven't had any so far this year but I am looking forward to definitely eating watermelon at some point this summer.

water-melon is one of my favorite fruits. I like its sweet taste and its colour. watermelon is not only delicious but extremely healthy, as well.Melons are abundant in vitamin c and are rich in carotenoids. carotenoids have antioxidant activity, free- radical scavenging property.water-melon seeds are excellent sources of protein. water-melon seeds are rich in magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorus zinc etc. it also contains beta carotene which are capable of preventing heart diease, cancer and other chronic conditions. No matter which way u cut them when it comes to nutrition melons are number one.

You really know your watermelon. It really is a pretty fruit isn't it? I didn't know we could eat watermelon seeds. Now I won't feel bad if I accidentally eat one.

Right now it is so hot in summer. We buy watermelons every other day when we finish eating those stored at home. I love to eat watermelons as it is juicy and is very good for the summer. I think that it is the best fruit in summer. The price is not very expensive when there are a lot of watermelons on sale in the market, but the price goes higher when there are not as many in late August. Take care, friend.

I never even noticed that the price goes up in late August. I'll have to watch out for that. Glad you're enjoying your watermelon too.

I had some today. I was scooping it out with a melon baller and it was so juicy I felt like calling for suction because I almost couldn't see what I was doing because the baby was truly a "water" melon.

i LOVE WATERMELON & I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY I HAVE BOUGHT SO FAR BUT QUITE A FEW. I have bought the seedless the last couple of times. I really like not having to fool w/the seeds. Have a good night.

I'm waiting for mine to grow and ripen before I eat any. When I look at the price of what is basically just water, my mind just starts seeing dollar signs, so I'll wait. I've planted watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew melons. I can't wait! Well, yes, I can but I don't want to. LOL I'm happy for you that you got a great tasting one. I've been disappointed a lot by watermelons that don't have much flavor. Maybe they were picked too ripe or something. There's definitely nothing like a big ol' slice of watermelon on a hot summer day!

I've had watermelon a couple of times this year. The first one was REALLY good. The other a friend brought to work and gave me some, but it wasn't as sweet as I like it to be.

Yes, I have quite a bit of watermelon. I have bought pretty much one watermelon per week for the last couple of months. My family really enjoys watermelon. The last watermelon we had was really sweet, it was suppossed to be seedless but it had a lot of seeds in it. Not as much as a regular watermelon but quite a lot for one that was suppossed to be seedless.

Don't you just love have the seedless watermelons still have tons of seeds? Makes no sense to me.

This is one of the two fruits that I don't really lke at all. I just don't get it why people rave over it especially in the summer time. It is not for me. The other fruit - and this I actually having growing in my garden) is pineapple. I cannot eat it raw as it makes me feel nauseous. I adore pineapll upside down cake though. Really love it but just can't eat water melon or pineapple.

Watermelon isn't for everyone. I like it but it isn't a fruit that I have to have. My husband and daughter really love it. My son doesn't like it at all. I'm surprised that pineapple makes you nauseous. It's supposed to be really good for the digestive system.
