Time Worked VS pay

I was talking to my hubby about this. If you look on either of our paycheck it goes by hours and the minutes go by 1/4's. I was thinking this isn't fair to do it this way. As I had to stay the other night to put discards back so I stayed 7 min over my shift time to leave. Do you think I'll get paid for that 7min? Doubtful as they go by 15 min incriments. Hubby said they do the same on his check.
But another job I worked that was similar they counted up every minute you were on the clock none of this rounding up or down to the nearest 15 minutes.
Some how this doesn't seem fair or ethical IMO! Does your work keep track of your wages this way as well? Or do they go by the true time on the clock?

i've never liked that 15 minutes increment crap either.
any employer i'd had that had those clocks always seemed to shave minutes in their favor with them.it should be true time by law, period.

I don't care for it either. It's like you worked for free for a few minutes or whatever. Doesn't seem ethical to me especially using a digital time clocks.

Probably depends on how often you're paid and how they track the time you've worked. If you're paid fortnightly, then hopefully, they'll add the extra minutes of two weeks to give you the 15mins. The company I work for tracks hourly staff by the minute and any discrepancies are easily resolved between supervisors and HR. It's different for me since I'm on salary. However, I have to juggle my time - some days are quiet, others are hectic... often I need to work weekends and evenings in order to not disrupt daily operations... but, there's no overtime for that...
