This shot shows one of my cabbage heads growing in my garden here in Minnesota. It should be ready by next weekend as you can tell by it's size. I plan on making some coleslaw and cabbage rolls with them. I also will make an irish boiled cabbage and potato dish in the near future. How do you best like your cabbage made?

I am so late this year with my veggies, all I have is tomato plants that are without fruits so far...I am jealous about your cabbage. I love fresh season cabbage, hard to buy....I am coming over for Irish boiled cabbage....

I have eaten grape tomatoes, lettuce, dill, cilantro, & onions, plus my starwberries and rasberries so far. Soon I'll be eating everything. Hahahaha! I got a very early start planting this year.
I had most m,y crops planted outside by early May as opposed to mid or late May as usual. Plus I started a lot indoors as well.

Cabbage rolls are simple to make.

Here ya go. Sometimes I'll make a brisket of corned beef and add it to the taters and cabbage once they are done. Yummy!

I like to make cabbage soup. It's the only kind of soup I make at home that I actually make well. I guess it is because it is not so difficult to make. You certainly did a great job with your veggies and fruits this year. Do you think this year is going better than the things you grew successfully last year?

About the same as last year actually.
Just a lot more this year than last is all.
Thanks also.

My mother used to make the best cabbage and I sure do miss it. I can't get it to taste like she made hers. She would quarter it up and put it in a pot with a little water, butter, salt and pepper oh and a small amount of cooking oil. Oh I can almost smell it now.

That's boiled cabbage.
I add some AllSpice or Mrs Dash as seasoning to mine.

That sounds good. I really do like coleslaw alot. I actually do not eat cabbage cooked any other way. I just do not like the taste of it for some reason. I prefer the slaw though.

Cabbage rolls sound really good...I'll have to look into how to make them. I usually make cabbage soup when I buy cabbage...cabbage, polish sausage, potatoes and brussel sprouts...it's great and I love it in the winter. Wonderful pic too!!

I admired to see that you are having a lot of free time to plant vegetables and fruits at your home yard. Thus, you are enjoying fresh vegetables and fruits on your table. Well, i don't have time to do planting, as i spend time taking care of my son. So i usually buy from the wet market or supermarket for vegetables and fruits. Well, i usually cook cabbage sop but i haven't tried cabbage roll. Maybe, i will give it a try when i buy cabbage again...
