Hi Guys,
Over weight and need to shed some pounds. I tend to start jogging and then stop. Could really do with some 'virtual' moral support, and some regular encouragement. Perhaps we could all do a virtual training team..haha.
Those that are beginning their training, could all report here everyday and we all vibe each other. I live in a remote place in India, where the countryside is absolutely to die for but have no jogging partners, by linking up with some people here on mylot, could create a 'virtual reality' beginners jog group...what do you reckon?? Yipee heeha....we could all come back here and report how far we jogged today and keep eachother inspired!
Take care, see ya around

Well, today I did 3 miles of interval training on a local school's track. I am losing time from before probably because I have been running too much this week, but I am feeling good as far as breathing and everything. I think I will take a break tomorrow, and maybe even skip my Saturday morning run unless my jogging partner is finally going to show up again.
So how's your running been going today?

Oh God I wish I could call it running! haha....more like...god I hate to say.....haha
Am going this afternoon....will be thinking of you.....you must go into this zone when your jogging....a kind of mindless zone and your body goes into this beautiful rhythm.....I can't wait for that to happen to me.....sometimes i just seem so far from it.
I can't believe that all that jogging has not made you loose weight! You must have lost alot of fat but just added more muscle, so perhaps the scales are lying. Are you taking any protein drinks?
Enjoy your run...and hey thanks for being there!

I haven't quite gotten into a zone yet when running. I'm still thinking about form and stuff like that. And when interval training, I think about time.
I don't drink any protein drinks even though the running group advises it. I know I'd probably gain weight if I started doing that.
I haven't lost any inches either so I'm kind of discouraged about that, but at least my body feels better (except for when I try something new, then my body just feels sore). By the next 5K race I plan to enter, I think that I'll probably have lost at least 2 pounds... I hope.

Good luck on your jogging and losing weight. I still need to lose those excess "baby pounds", but I am not into jogging. I will walk for several miles, swim or just exercise by doing Wii Fit, etc. though. I hope that you find something that you like and can stick with that will help you shed the pounds that you want.

Wii Fit is an interactive game for the Wii. It has a personal trainer that does the exercises with you, and it has fun games that help you gain muscle tone, balance, and flexibility while you lose weight.

Country side is a very good place for remaining fit and healthy. Just forget you are overweight. Remove that from your mind. Do all the shopping walking. In country side you get to walk a lot. I just love walking, no need for special jogging. Just walk around for all your daily needs, that is more than enough. Walking and swimming are the most natural exercises. Best of luck and may God bless you.

Even slightly overweight people can still jog. Just make sure you give your body time to adjust. And wear proper shoes. Some shoes are designed more for those ultra thin elite runners. I can't seem to get to the point where I start losing weight yet, but I feel better at least after running for about 7 weeks.
