Magical Elevators don't exist...sorry.

Elevator - Just a pic of an elevator, so any U.K'er's see this, they'll understand it's a "Lift", which is the equivalent of our Elevator term.

So, I've been noticing this a lot at where I work, most of the time if I notice they're not sure which way to go, I ask, verify, etc etc, and let them go on their way, sometimes going into the elevator if I have to go that way anyways. No big deal. But some of these guys? Get on the elevator on Main, they plan to go up to the 5th, or down to the sub-basement, where ever they try to go, there are a few floors in between them, yet STILL, the first chance the elevator stops, whether in the wrong direction or not, they hop off....then proceed to look confused. What were expecting? Especially when trying to go to the 5th floor...you uh, think it's a magical elevator? Sorry, this isn't Harry Potter....as much as I WISH it was, but THAT'S a different discussion at a different time. Why don't you guys pay attention? See which way the light-up arrow is pointing before going for a ride in the different direction? Look at the light-up number that indicates what floor it's on? Or even better, ask one of our volunteers at the front desk if you're unfamiliar with the building? It doesn't hurt to ask, and that's what they're there for, to help direct you, try to answer any questions you have.... I'll admit, I've done that before, but understood my mistake once in the elevator. Oh well, silly me. ....I wish magical elevators really did exist....

Tell me about it. I can understand at mom's place, they are old, they probably forget what floor they are on, but when you are on the bottom floor and a person asks "is it going up?" I mean, WHAT ARE THEY DRINKING?

Which I agree, common mistakes....but to get on at main, slect 5th, and expect the 5 second rise equals your stop? Silly lol. Thanks for responding and happy myLotting!

I may resemble that remark. Yes, I have done it a few times, and I think it is because work-life was so hectic that when I got into that little space and felt the ground whooshing up (or down) beneath me, I became a bit disoriented and just felt a subconscious instinct to get off, and that feeling sort of overwhelmed the logic that said "Stay in." See, you learned from you mistakes, whereas I merely analyzed mine, lol.

Well it's nice to meet another analyzer! lol. I myself also analyze, just about everything, to the point where my friends get annoyed lol. But I mean some people think that they wait for 5 seconds, and they're at the top of the building? Oh well. Thanks for responding and happy myLotting!

One does wonder at times what is going on in other people's minds, for these it is not elevator travel. I think magic could be very handy many times during the day, how about turning all traffic lights going your way to green for one, or clearing a parking place right in front of the store.

Or with the flick of dah wrist, you can just float all forms of heavy boxes to where they need to go, or even shrink them! Man that would be cool.... You have good points too. I'd also have a flying vehicle of sorts, but then again our scientists were supposed to figure that out in 2000!
