How Disappointing

I recently came across a new flavor of Jell-o pudding... Cheesecake! So I thought, what the heck, I'll try it. I made it up today and served it at dinner (had a friend over). I even put berries on top. To me, it tasted no different than regular ol' vanilla pudding. My friend thought it was "too rich", even though it was sugar free and fat free. Go figure.

Hmmm...I never heard of this flavor before you posted this. It sounds like it would be good, but then you never know until you try it. I know it is disappointing when you see something in the store and then you buy it and taste it and it just isn't all that you thought it would be. Thanks for posting here to let us know. I think I would have purchased it too because it sounds like it would have been decadent. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I sometimes put a pack of vanilla sugar in my yogurt to make it taste like cheesecake. It's not quite the same, but it's also not full of calories.

I just buy vanilla yogurt... which I love, but it's not the same as cheesecake.

There's usually no price difference in the stores here...

Flavored yogurts are much more expensive than the half gallon jug of plain, so I buy that and add my own flavors. I need to watch my money. When my dad is here visiting me, I buy the flavored ones because he likes them. At 87 years old, he gets anything he wants. At 48 years old, I'm still daddy's little girl and want him to be happy. I am lucky that he still can fly and visit me.

Sounds like you "made it up" from the box on the stove like my mother used to do before there were single serving puddings. LOL! I think I may have done that once in my lifetime. If I made them up they probably wouldn't get eaten. That's the way the people are in this house. I like the lemon meringue pie pudding cups. OMG they taste just like lemon meringue pie. My husband insists on having one in his lunch when he works. He doesn't eat them while at home but he would rather have that than any other flavour. The banana cream pie pudding didn't go over very well.

Yeah, I don't usually make pudding, but because it was cheesecake flavor thought it might be a quick substitute for when I have a craving for cheesecake and no cheesecake in the house. My favorite pudding actually is tapioca.

That really is disappointing when you get something and expecting it to taste one way and it tastes completely different from one's expectations. That happened once when I decided to be lazy and not make my own lasagna, and instead bought the frozen Stouffers kind...blah...tasted like crap--it was drowning in too much sauce
