I have a problem with my scroll thingy on mouse.....................

Basically, I have an emachines (acer) laptop, mostly it works perfectly well, unfortunately for some reason the srcrolly bit at the right hand side of my mousepad (please note it's an inbuilt mousepad) has stopped scrolling, everything else seems to work perfectly well, just the scrolly thingy. Do you have any ideas on how to fix it? I can't uninstall it and re-install it as it's part of the computer itself. Also, I have a problem, which is rather odd, I can be typing away quite happily, when suddenly the cursor decides it's going to move to another part of the page, which is slightly annoying, especially as I'm a touch-typist and don't always look at the screen when I'm typing. Any ideas would be useful. Thank you.

Hi I'm not sure which OS are you using- but try using a mouse instead of the flicker at your laptop as while you are typing you might touch it and it moves the cursor. I use to have this prob and I turned off then on again and changed the sensitivity. If you are using Vista, go to control panel - Pen and Input Device - then go to - Flicks and change the sensitivity. Hope this helps.

Hey, I don't really know how to fix your scrolling wheel on your mouse, sorry. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question better than I have done, in a really good way so you can actually benefit from it. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

You could get a replacement part from the manufacturer or just use an external mouse.
