Keeping Your Teeth...

The other day I was over at my Mom’s and we were working in her office on her pc. Suddenly she picks up a little ball of tissue and starts to unravel it, telling me she has to show me something. As she gets it unwound, low and behold, it’s her tooth. Not just any tooth but her very last tooth. I just started laughing. There is no doubt I am her daughter, I have a few of my own teeth rolling around my desk drawer too wrapped in tissue. Everytime I have one pulled the dentist asks me if I want it and I always do b/c it’s a little part of me. So now I know where I get it from…my Mom does it too.
Do you save your teeth after you lose them or have them pulled? Where do you put them if you save them? Did you keep your own or your children’s teeth?

I am lucky enough not to have lost any teeth yet, I am not sure that I would keep them though even if I did. Although I have kept a few of my childrens teeth that they have not lost and I keep them in my handbag!!

Well, I had to think about this. No I don't save teeth. Not even the kids teeth. I thought about it when they were little, saving their first tooth but I ended up losing them any way so I gave up.

The heavens be blessed, but so far I have only had one tooth pulled, outside of the baby ones that grew back in childhood, and the wisdom teeth which went out in my relative youth.
That one I saved because it had a whole bunch of gold in the filling. Polished up, it could make a handsome piece of jewelry I suppose, but I am not that morbid. But with that much precious metal, I put it in the safe.

Hello,
I have two children but they haven't loose any teeth yet. For me, I plan to keep at least one of their tooth in a nice box. So, when they are older then I can show their childhood tooth. it is a good memory for children.
lolz... i haven't save any tooth myself yet cuz I haven't loose any either... lolz.

I would keep them, atleast for a while. When I was younger and researching witchcraft for writing purposes I found that hair and nails were used in hexs and such and got me to thinking every time I threw clippings and such away. I hae saved my teeth at different times for different reasons and kept them in a little brass box I have in my room. My daughter found a little box shaped like a tooth and is going to put her sons baby teeth in it.

I have never saved any of my teeth. But i want to save my kids first tooth that falls out because i have this little glass square that says baby's first tooth. It is so you can keep their fist tooth. So that is my answer.

Only teeth I've ever saved were the first tooth each kid lost - still have 3 but one day oldest found my stash and claimed his "It's my tooth I should have it". Kids are in small envelopes in my jewelry box which currently is still packed in a box in my room.

I don't keep my own. I guess I never really thought about it.
I know I kept the kid's first tooth, but the others I didn't. I'm not one to save a lot of things unless I know they are going to have a value. I don't hold much stock in personal things like teeth or clips of hair, but do keep things like the afgan my grandmother made for me or something that was in the family.
I don't know if that makes senese or or not.
