Of all the Apostles,which is/was Jesus' favorite? Does/Did he have a favorite?

I am not Catholic, so please correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe the Catholic church would say Peter, as I understand it is their belief it is upon Peter that the church was founded. See Matthew 16:18 for reference.

I don't think that Jesus had a favourite, or perhaps my church just doesn't teach that he had a favourite. I don't think I've seen anything in the bible about him having a favourite, but other Christians may not agree with me. You've picked a great site to ask a question, because MyLot has such a diverse group of people.

lotterylover is correct in his quote from the bible. But if you have read the gnostic texts that you may feel that Mary was more than just a follower whom Jesus cared very much for. Also most historians believe John was the youngest.
