rap music listeners: radio version vs. the real version ...

Ok, so I listen to rap music, I have since high school and I graduated 20 yrs ago... I listen to a wide range of music but there are days that I just need to hear my hip hop rap... I have cd's and I listen to the local radio station, but I am always surprised how different the two versions are... do they actually make 2 versions when they make the songs!! I mean you cant bleep that much out of song and still play it on the radio!! 
I love the music, the beat, the bass.... my husband thinks I am insane when I listen to the real versions and he says to me "do you realize what they are saying?" 
truly I dont.... I love the music, the background... the beat --it just moves me!!
which do you prefer...the real version? or the radio version?...does it matter, do you listen to rap music?

Unfortunately am an old timer and would only appreciate music of my era. Hip hops are to me not a real music but some kind of unrealistic music with no real meaning to the lyrics. Some of the lyrics are quite vulgar and offensive which is hard on my ears. The only good thing about hip hops are their music and not the rapping. I prefer some country songs which are evergreen.

I can understand that since when I grew up (high school era) this is the music that was popular and what I listened too...as it is my mom listens to oldies music and that was the music she grew up on-- I listen to that music as well since I grew up on it... but I just thought I would ask the question to what people thought of it...thanks for the response and have a great day!!

that is the only kind of music i can't listen to it gets on my nerves as soon ias it starts because it has the same beat over and over.i to old too.lol

I am almost 40 but it is the music that was popular when I was in high school and I have always listened to it... so naturally I still do.
My mother would say the same, but she will shock me once in a while when she will start to dance when we are at bbq's and I am listening to my music.... but then she loves to dance almost as much as me!!
