While on vacation my daughter spotted a lady with a crocheted water bottle holder. She had her water bottle in it and it was slung over her shoulder. We stopped her and asked how she did it so she showed us the holder up close. We went home and figured out a pattern. Have you ever seen these crocheted water bottle holders? Have you ever made any?

It isn't that difficult to do, I think the tension is the hardest thing to get down. I haven't crocheted in a while, and didn't crochet very many things. I don't have the tension down yet, but don't think I'm too interested in crocheting anymore, lol!

wow I love them, they are so colourful, how cool, I think they are beautiful and I could see all the football fans wanting them in their favourite teams colours...I hope I see some around the crafts stalls here in Australia, I will buy some for my footy fan friends...

Those water bottle holders are really neat. Very clever idea. You must be a pro with patterns if you were able to look at the item, remember the details and then make yourself. You could probably sell those like crazy at a craft fair. They would also make cute Christmas gifts. Do you mind me asking how much the holders were? I can't crochet but can knit. Maybe I should learn since I've been told crocheting is much easier.

it is very easy to learn....and I don't know what to charge. My daughter is charging seven bucks with the water bottle included. I might make a few for my next craft sale...thing is that the water bottles are now on clearance....so if I wait I'll have to pay more for the bottles...anyway....crocheting is very easy to learn. I have tried but can't get how to knit. These I made with cotton yarn and it took less then a skein....so.....they are inexpensive to make...its the time.

Those look very pretty! I like the Fun fur (?) one. The one on the far right, not quite sure if it's fun fur or not. I've seen patterns for these kinds of holders online before, and they are neat!

It does seem like something that they would enjoy. Maybe even little girls as well.

I never tried them as I am not one to carry a water bottle very often so I have no need, but I can see if you are out running or something and would like to hang it some where.

I've knitted some, but I haven't crocheted any. You can also make a similar pattern for coffee cups.

What a neat idea! And so very convenient for Moms to have a shoulder strap for a small water bottle or juice cup.
I have never seen one until viewing yours...I be they go over real well. Practical and convenient...and also handmade. It doesn't get any better than that!
Let us know how you do with them!!!

Those are really awesome, nd i could totally see people actually using them with the amount of people who like to carry water or some other dirnk with them all the time. And just think, in the summer when you have a nice cool bottle of water and you are outside in the heat, when the bottle gets covered in condesation, the fabric around it would absorb it and keep you dry! (i hate it when the condensation drips all over my oants or shirt and makes me look like a slob)
I enjoy croceting, but i am not very good at it LOL. I can do things like scarves and blankets, but when it comes to anything that is not rectangular in shape, i get stumped. I'd wind up having to make that pareticular item in like 4 pieces, then sewing them together!
