Music on linux[Ubuntu]

Okay, bbpstudios here once again with a question this time. Okay, so, I use an Ubuntu(a version of Linux) system. I would greatly like to know if there where any open source programs for Linux that would allow me to create high quality music, or if maybe there where any programs that could serve as a flash animation tool. I have used many of the Ubuntu programs but the truth is bbpstudious is going to start working on a new project soon that requires custom loops[beats]. And It would be greatly appropriate it.
