Do you still get bonus and increment?

I am quite glad and fortunate that I just got my annual bonus and increment from my company, though it is much lesser than the previous years. As my company is also not doing quite well, but she still reward the employees, which I think the bosses are really very kind to us, especially when there are many cut pays, retrenchment going on in other companies, and yet we still get some increment and bonus, shouldn't I be satisfied and happy?
In this bad economic period, do you still get annual bonus and increment from your employer? Even though you do not get bonus or increment at this period, people always said as long as you have a job, you are considered lucky! ^_^

Hello my friend kaka135 Ji,
Well, as a retired person's wife and a house wife, I do not feel pinch/happiness of same. However, with increase in price index, Govt announces incraese in percentage of dearness relief can be considered as increase in pension and it can be further attributed increase in salary. So i ge twice in jan and July every year.
May God bless You and have a great time.

You are so lucky to get a raise and bonus even if it is small.
y husbands firm starts their pay talk in April and we don't usually get it till christmas back dated from April, seems a long time to wait but it does come in handy for christmas. The firm hang on to the money as long as they can and earn interest on it.It is unfair but at least it saves us saving as the firm does it for us.To have a job at all let alone get a pay rise ,we are truly lucky people.

I don't get a bonus from my company. But we still get an annual raise. however, this year they have already warned us that it won't be as high as it has been in the past (and it really was never that astounding in the past.) What isn't right is that our company is making money, lots of money. I work in the medical field and our business is growing. But the company is throwing out this line that they are preparing for when the economy does hit our business. Meanwhile, our salaries are not keeping up with inflation and their profits grow. I know I should be grateful for a job in these times, but everybody has to find a way to get by.

The moment I quit my job to be a stay at home mother, I ceased to get the bonus and increment. I dont get a salary neither. But I get my bonus everyday in the sense that I see my boy growing up from a little baby and now he is two. Every step he take is a bonus to me. Watching him grow, I wont trade that for anything. :)

I am taking advantage of having my job so I can work on my teaching certification. I just work hard when I am there and then in the near future will go home to work on my coursework. I figure why not? Teachers are needed and it is a field that is doing well in this economy.

Oh yes dear friend!
I totally agree with you that having a permanent job, receiving monthly salary is considered to be lucky.
It's hard to find a job these days because of the global crisis. Most companies are trying to cut down operation and so that would mean laying off some of it's employees. I have a cousin who was recently laid off from work. He was given his last month's salary and he went home to his wife so sad
. Good thing his wife still has a job as a teacher, otherwise, they wouldn't be able to get through for this month's expenses.
Love your job friend! You are lucky to have one! Ciao!

congratulations to you... you are very fortunate to be working in that company.
i dont have an offline job, i tried looking for it, but have found none, even at our department of employment here they werent able to find one job for me as i am hearing impaired.
yes i agree, most people i know that is what they say too... as long as they have a job they consider themselves lucky... one of my close friend just got hired in a company and she said its really hard and her shift is the graveyard shift but she's happy that she got one, took her too long to find a job.
